## Overview

Promethium Optimized (PO) is a performance modpack that keeps vanilla gameplay intact: faster chunk loading, smoother FPS, spatial audio via Sound Physics Remastered, dynamic lighting and memory optimization. 86 mods were hand-picked and checked for conflicts. Figures on the CurseForge page as of 2026-09-04: 200 downloads, released around August 2025, updated 2026-04-03, Public Domain.

PO is past beta and runs stably across different machines. The CurseForge page reports testing on high-end hardware (Intel Core i9-14900HX, RTX 4090, 32 GB RAM): clear FPS gains across scenarios and lower RAM use than vanilla.

## Relation to DFast

PO is backed by DFast (Don Fast): a hardware-aware coordination and self-configuration layer for Minecraft, not a new render engine. DFast is PART of the PO source, not all of it: PO itself is closed source, while DFast is source-available under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 plus the DonQuaan addendum: non-commercial use only, attribution required, organizations larger than 3 people excluded. DFast is still in beta with known bugs; PO is complete.
